Civil Engineering Department
Established in 2007, the Civil Engineering Department offers the Under Graduate and Post Graduate (M.Tech-Structures) program in Civil Engineering. The department is facilitated with well equipped laboratories and qualified and experienced staff. Computerized Universal Testing Machine, Plate Load Test Apparatus and software like STAAD Pro, AutoCAD, Primavera and smart classes are available in the department. The departmental activities embrace planning, design, construction and management. The academic programme of the Civil Engineering department at SIMS, Indore is one of the best in central India. Many of the faculty members have received advanced degrees and/or training from reputed institutions in India. Many of our alumni hold prestigious positions in leading academic institutions, industry and government in different cities all over the India.
The department has well equipped laboratories with trained staff. Basic Civil Engineering & Engineering Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Engineering Geology, Fluid Mechanics, Transport Engineering, Advanced Surveying, Theory of Structures, Environmental Engineering and Geo-technical Engineering laboratories are developed in the department.
The faculties and students of civil engineering department have added their valuable contribution in paper presentation at National level conferences and competitions organized by reputed institutes like IIT Madras, SATI Vidisha. etc. The department adds skills and improved quality of faculties by organizing Faculty Development Program. The department imparts practical knowledge to the student by organizing visits to the civil engineering projects like Kevadia (Sardar Sarovar Dam), Baroda Railway model room, and Ahmadabad treatment plant, Yashwant Sagar Dam Indore, Jalud Water Treatment Plant etc.
